The VSE and GTB Story
In 2006 Automotive Holdings Group Limited (AHG) established Vehicle Storage & Engineering and Genuine Truck Bodies (GTB) in Dandenong South, Victoria.
The mission is to have a modern facility that provided the Australian rigid truck market with the highest level of service saving time, money and minimising frustration for truck customers.
To make life easier for truck dealers and customers, the unique service offering would include:
· vehicle storage,
· vehicle distribution,
· truck chassis engineering and modifications,
· truck bodies,
· truck painting, and
· exceptional service
It would be a one-stop shop – all at one facility, and under the one roof.
With this in mind, AHG commissioned a 36,000 sqm vehicle storage yard and a modern 10,000 sqm purpose-built manufacturing facility. The manufacturing facility includes the latest technology with assembly lines for a wide range of rigid truck bodies, as well as dedicated work stations to carry out the highest level of truck engineering and modifications to meet customers’ requirements.
In January 2006 VSE opened their high security storage yard, securing a major truck manufacture for their ongoing southern states vehicle storage and distribution. VSE also offered their security controlled yard for seasonal storage for several local car and truck dealerships as well as product overflow storage for local transport companies.
The Logistics Division also offers customers transportation options for trucks to be driven or floated for local, country and interstate delivery. Early In 2010 VSE added truck wheel alignment equipment and on-site diesel refueling to further compliment and improve services and delivery times to customers and end users.
The Engineering Division of the business was launched in March 2006 and began providing customers with wheelbases modifications, lazy axle conversions, Hino mirror image dual steer conversions, prime mover setups and tipper modifications. This professional engineering service proved to be a high demand area of the business that has achieved customer acceptance.
Truck Body Production commenced in August 2008 when the exclusive import rights were signed for GTB’s range of 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 pallet curtainsider bodies. These bodies provided the Australian market with a standardised product that has proven to be world-wide reliability designed to meet Australian conditions, and a viable effective alternative to bodies currently available in Australia.
Experiencing growth along with customer acceptance and demands, further production lines were added in 2009 to manufacture steel trays, Monopan® and FRP van bodies as well as aluminium tray assembly. Further expansion in 2010 added tipping trays, fridge and freezer vans and rental van bodies were all now part of the production lines.
